Six Asian Artists Shortlisted for Hugo Boss Asia Art Award 2015
Six emerging artists from across Asia have been named as finalists for the 2015 Hugo Boss Asia Art Award. Guan Xiao and Yang Xinguang represent China, while Huang Po-Chih is from Taiwan. The list also includes Moe Satt from Myanmar, Maria Taniguchi from the Philippines, and Vandy Rattana from Cambodia. This biennial prize, organized in collaboration with the Rockbund Art Museum, specifically recognizes contemporary artists from Asia who are in the early stages of their careers. This year's edition places particular emphasis on creators from Greater China. An exhibition showcasing the work of all six shortlisted artists will be held at the Rockbund Art Museum, opening on 30 October 2015 and running until 3 January 2016. The recipient of the award, who will be revealed in November 2015, will receive a cash prize of ¥300,000, equivalent to approximately £30,000.
