Six Artists from the Caucasus at Laura Bulian Gallery in Milan

The group exhibition 'Life from My Window' at Laura Bulian Gallery in Milan features six artists from the Caucasus region: Babi Badalov, Lusine Djanyan, Aslan Gaisumov, Musay Gaivoronskiy, Taus Makhacheva, and Koka Ramishvili. The show opens with Ramishvili's 'War From My Window' (1991-1992), a series of thirteen black-and-white photographs taken from his home window in Tbilisi during clashes between Georgian soldiers and the Russian army. Badalov presents poetic collages about Azerbaijan, while Makhacheva's miniature reliefs made from casts of human noses reference ancient Dagestani tales. The exhibition also includes nine postcards documenting the short-lived Republic of Ichkeria (Chechnya). The show is curated by Ginevra Bria, an art critic and curator at Isisuf – International Institute of Futurism Studies in Milan.
