Six art suggestions for UK PM's new No. 10 North hub in Manchester
The Art Newspaper has put forward six art pieces for Manchester’s new government hub, No. 10 North, which was opened by Andy Burnham. This collection aims to bring summer joy and is part of Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy's Arts Everywhere initiative, introduced in February 2025. This program encourages the temporary lending of art from public museums to various community spaces like schools, libraries, and hospitals. The Government Art Collection will manage these loans, and as Alison Cole from The Cultural Policy Unit noted, changes to the Government Indemnity Scheme could help with insurance for them.
