Six Art Books to Buy: From Cagli to Serra

Raffaele Bedarida's 'Corrado Cagli' (Donzelli, 2018) fills a gap on the artist's American decade (1938-1947), a period of exile due to racial laws. Bedarida teaches at Cooper Union, New York. The preface is by Enrico Crispolti. Meyer Schapiro's 'Picasso' (Christian Marinotti, 2017) argues Picasso was not an eclectic, applying Schapiro's theory of style. Vincenzo Estremo and Francesco Federici's 'Albert Serra' (Mimesis, 2017) examines the filmmaker's work across art and cinema, noting his exhibitions at Tate and Pompidou, and participation in Venice Biennale, Documenta, Cannes, and Locarno.
