Sissi's Sculptural Garments Fill Palazzo Bentivoglio in Bologna
Following Jacopo Benassi, artist Sissi (Daniela Olivieri, born 1977 in Bologna) takes over the spaces of the 16th-century Palazzo Bentivoglio in Bologna, redesigned by Antonio Iascone & Partners and inaugurated in 2019 during Arte Fiera thanks to the patronage of the Vacchi family and curatorial work by Antonio Grulli. The exhibition, titled "Vestimenti," curated by Grulli, opened during Bologna's art week and runs until April 19, 2020. It presents a large corpus of works spanning twenty years of the artist's career, focusing on her signature garment-sculptures made from various materials, sometimes wearable, which she treats as sculptures within installations or performances. A performance took place on the opening Sunday and will be repeated on January 26.
