SISSI's Land Art Installation Transforms Abruzzo National Park into Sculpture Park

exhibition · 2026-04-27

Since 2018, the Abruzzo National Park has been evolving into an open-air sculpture park through the Arteparco initiative, spearheaded by communicator Paride Vitale with local support. Park president Giovanni Cannata describes the area as a 'deposit of beauty' that must not be interpreted vulgarly, emphasizing the importance of thoughtful public art. The most convincing work to date is by artist SISSI, which challenges organizers for future editions, particularly those in 2022 and 2023, marking the park's centenary. This milestone offers an opportunity to further structure the event, which intelligently interprets land art. Arteparco is located along trails C1 and C2 in Pescasseroli (AQ). The article is written by Massimiliano Tonelli for Artribune.
