Sirui adds 75mm, 100mm, and 135mm telephoto primes to IronStar anamorphic lens series
Sirui has expanded its IronStar series of 1.5x anamorphic lenses for full-frame cameras with three new telephoto primes: 75mm, 100mm, and 135mm. While the 75mm retains a T1.9 aperture, the 100mm and 135mm models feature a slower T2.8, with the 100mm also serving as a macro lens capable of focusing as close as 0.3 meters. All six lenses in the series share a 95mm front diameter and identical control ring placements, ensuring consistency across the lineup. Sirui states that these additions complete the system, offering comprehensive support for commercial and artistic cinematography. The 75mm is highlighted for dialogue scenes and portraits, the 100mm for macro and commercial work like food or product filming, and the 135mm for strong compression and subject isolation. These lenses enable wide cinematic aspect ratios, such as 2.25:1 in 3:2 open-gate or 2.66:1 in 16:9 recording, and produce oval bokeh and streaky flares, likely with neutral or blue flare options. Expected to launch in the second half of this year, they may feature interchangeable PL and EF mounts, though pricing remains unconfirmed compared to the initial trio's sub-$1,000 tag. The expansion follows the July announcement of the original 35mm, 45mm, and 60mm primes.
