Singer Vehicle Design Hosts First Owner's Escape in Swiss Alps
Singer Vehicle Design, founded in 2009 by Rob Dickinson, organized its first multiday owner's escape in Adelboden, Switzerland, last June. The four-day event, hosted at the Brecon hotel owned by Singer customer Grant Maunder, included two full drive days through alpine passes like the Susten pass at 7,415 feet. Participants drove Singer-restomodded Porsche 911s, including models from the Classic, Classic Turbo, and DLS Turbo services. The DLS Turbo, named Robb Report's Best Restomod in 2024, features a carbon-fiber body and a twin-turbocharged flat-six engine producing over 700 hp. The Classic Turbo, awarded Best Restomod in 2023, delivers 510 hp with a titanium exhaust. Singer specializes in restoring air-cooled 964-generation 911s (1989–1994). Dickinson noted that clients had been requesting such gatherings, which he described as a social experiment that ends in joy. A second adventure is planned for fall in France.
