Singapore Art Museum launches inaugural residencies program with open call for applications

Singapore Art Museum (SAM) has launched its first residencies program, set to begin in July 2021. The initiative aims to foster innovative practices, collaboration, and public engagement with art. Applications are open from December 9, 2020, to February 28, 2021, for three residencies: Artist Residency, Community & Education Residency, and Curatorial & Research Residency. A fourth residency, 'EX-SITU: Art Spaces Residency' for Asian art organizations, is invitation-only. Each residency lasts one to six months, focusing on themes like intimacy, infrastructures, and technology's impact. Residents will participate in open studios, talks, and workshops, encouraging community interaction. The program serves as an incubator for new artistic and curatorial approaches.
