Simposio 2022: Collective Imagination Festival in the Dolomites

festival-fair · 2026-04-27

The third edition of Simposio, a cultural project by the artistic collective NONE (Gregorio De Luca Comandini, Mauro Pace, Saverio Villirillo), will take place from July 7 to 10, 2022, at the Villaggio Eni campsite in Borca di Cadore (Belluno), at the foot of Monte Antelao. The venue is a visionary social utopia built between the late 1950s and early 1960s by Enrico Mattei, designed by Edoardo Gellner in collaboration with Carlo Scarpa. After a Milan edition in 2021, the event returns to the mountains for the second time. Previous editions (Rome 2018, Borca di Cadore 2019, Base Milano 2021) involved about 900 active participants and over 60 guests including artists, researchers, communicators, and hackers. Simposio is self-funded and organized in a spirit of sharing, described as a "collective exercise of imagination and dialogue, a ritual of reconnection and cultural activism." This year, it collaborates with La Scuola Open Source from Bari. The program includes performances, live music, light and sound installations integrated into the mountain environment, and debate spaces focused on four themes: Representation and Power, Art and Technology, Organization and Politics, Care and Ecosystems. Registration opens March 28, with a call for stories closing March 21 under the slogan "All'arme!" seeking "stories from the end of the world as we knew it." Selected storytellers receive food and lodging.
