Simposio 2019 documentary trailer explores real utopia in the Dolomites

NONE Collective has released a trailer for a documentary about Simposio 2019, a four-day symposium held from July 4 to 7 in the former ENI village of Borca di Cadore, Italy. The event brought together over 200 participants, including artists Marco Donnarumma, Quiet Ensemble, The Cool Couple, Donato Piccolo, and dotdotdot, for discussions on art, politics, technology, and the concept of 'real utopia.' Organized by NONE Collective after their first edition in Rome in 2018, the symposium featured workshops, installations, performances, and music, fostering a tight-knit community with minimal distinction between guests and attendees. The documentary, produced by SO WHAT Pictures with direction and editing by Ippolito Simion, aims to capture the collective's vision of art as a practice of community-building and infrastructure management. NONE Collective views the organization of Simposio—coordinating transport, accommodation, and logistics—as an artistic act equivalent to creating an immersive installation. The collective plans a future edition, seeking to involve volunteers and share financial transparency to maintain the community.
