Simone Macciocchi's Fanzine 'Suppergiù' Goes Digital with Random Content Generator

publication · 2026-04-27

Simone Macciocchi's fanzine 'Suppergiù' has released its 13th issue as a website, thismagazinedoesnotexist.com, which generates random text and images on each refresh. The project, created in collaboration with Elias and Mattia of studio cino.ch, intentionally denies the nature of a printed magazine by producing unpredictable content. Macciocchi, who met interviewer Francesco Ciaponi during a fanzine history workshop at Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in 2020, describes the project as born without artistic ambition, driven by chance and surrealist influence. The site pulls texts from the web or written from scratch, with blanks filled randomly from a database of words and expressions, while images are selected via tags. Macciocchi embraces uselessness, kitsch, and mass culture, and plans future interactive digital issues where users can contribute.
