Simone Legno's Tokidoki Creates Official Mascot for Jubilee 2025
Simone Legno, founder of the Tokidoki brand, designed Luce, the first official mascot for the Jubilee 2025, presented on October 28, 2024, by Monsignor Rino Fisichella. The mascot, a young pilgrim with blue eyes symbolizing hope, will debut at Lucca Comics from October 30 to November 3, 2024. Legno, born in Rome in 1977, collaborated with the Dicastery for Evangelization, inspired by the Jubilee's theme of hope and the pilgrim's journey. Luce wears a yellow raincoat, muddy boots, a missionary cross, and carries a pilgrim's staff. Accompanying characters include a dog (symbol of fidelity) and three friends representing cultural exchange. Legno also designed Italy-chan, the mascot for Italy at Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan. He is working on his first animation with Warner Bros, set to launch in early 2025 in the US, and plans a Tokidoki 20th anniversary exhibition in Rome and the US.
