Simone Bellotti's Jil Sander: A Return to the Milanese HQ

In early 2025, Simone Bellotti took on the role of creative director at Jil Sander, reinstating runway presentations at the Milan headquarters, which were originally designed by Jil Sander and Michael Gabellini in 1994. The headquarters embodies a concept of 'radical simplicity' featuring limestone and ample light. Bellotti unveiled his inaugural S/S 2026 collection in September 2025, amidst a season showcasing 15 new creative directors, including Matthieu Blazy at Chanel. His A/W 2026 collection, presented in February, introduced vibrant colors and textures, drawing inspiration from his father's upholstery work and the photography of Anders Petersen, alongside a poem by Chiara Barzini recited by Kim Gordon. Having spent 16 years at Gucci, Bellotti seeks to harmonize tradition with innovation. Jil Sander established a boutique in Hamburg during the late 1960s and released her first collection in 1973.
