Simone Angelini's silent comics: an interview on 'Storie Zitte'
Simone Angelini, an animator and cartoonist hailing from Chieti, was born in 1980 and is celebrated for his sharp narratives. His 2022 publication, 'Storie Zitte,' earned a spot on Artribune's list of the year's top ten comics. The initiative originated during the 2020 lockdown, featuring brief, silent animations shared on YouTube and entered into competitions. Maurizio Ceccato from IFix suggested transforming these animations into a book, resulting in a collection of twenty-three short stories. Self-taught, Angelini co-founded the fanzine 'Carta Straccia' (2009-2011) alongside Fabio Di Campli, which led to partnerships with Marco Taddei. His acclaimed work 'Anubi' received awards, and its original plates are now part of the PAFF! Museum. Residing in Pescara, he often contemplates the impact of Andrea Pazienza on his art.
