Simone Angelini's Quarantine Comics and Silent Animations
Simone Angelini, known for his graphic novel Anubi (Coconino Press, 2018), continues creating during Italy's COVID-19 lockdown. He is producing a series of silent, black-and-white animations called Storie Zitte, posted on social media, made frame-by-frame without dialogue. Angelini contributed to charity projects: a drawing auctioned by Lucca Comics & Games for the Tuscan healthcare system, and a comic for COme VIte Distanti by ARF! Festival supporting Rome's IMI Spallanzani hospital. His latest publication was the French edition of 4 vecchi di merda (4 vieux enfoirés) by Editions Rackham in February 2020. He lives in Pescara with his partner, artist Michela Tobiolo, and their cat.
