Simon Steen-Andersen and Thierry De Mey present 'Summer Playlist' at ManiFeste 2024 festival in Paris
The 13th edition of the ManiFeste festival, hosted by Ircam from May 30 to June 22, 2024, will showcase a performance titled 'Summer Playlist' featuring Simon Steen-Andersen and Thierry De Mey at Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris on May 31, 2024. Steen-Andersen employs a 'hacking' technique that repurposes existing systems to create surprising outcomes, including his work 'TRIO' (2019), which incorporates 4,500 audio clips, such as an 1888 recording of Handel's 'Israel in Egypt.' De Mey will also present his film adaptation of Ravel's 'La Valse,' choreographed by Thomas Hauert. Other highlights include De Mey's 'Timelessness' at Centre Pompidou on June 8, 2024, and Steen-Andersen's 'Chambered Music' on June 22, 2024. The festival will additionally feature Vivaldi's 'L'Olimpiade' from June 20-29 and Laurent Gaudé's 'Terrasses' until June 9.
