Simon Mordant Launches Quattro Gatti as Official Gin of 2026 Venice Biennale

Simon Mordant, a British-born Australian art collector and former chair of the Museum of Contemporary Art Sydney, has launched Quattro Gatti, a gin brand that will serve as the official spirits sponsor of the 2026 Venice Biennale. Mordant, who has attended the Biennale for 35 years with his wife Catriona, also serves as Global Ambassador and Advocate for Australia at this edition. The brand's official cocktail is named 'The Reflection.' Quattro Gatti was developed with his family—Catriona, son Angus, and daughter-in-law Brielle—and is inspired by their home in Umbria. Mordant has collected art for over 40 years, never sold a work, and now gifts pieces to institutions. He has served on multiple arts boards and led the expansion of the MCA, which became the world's most visited contemporary art museum during his tenure. The gin brand aims to exist at the intersection of art, hospitality, and cultural experience.
