Simon Foxton: From Styling Icon to AI Image-Maker

Simon Foxton, a well-known menswear stylist and art director, has been shaping fashion visuals since the mid-1980s and is now venturing into AI-generated images. After graduating from Central Saint Martins in 1983, he co-founded Bazooka! and made significant contributions to i-D magazine, working closely with photographer Nick Knight. His work has also appeared in The Face, Arena Homme+, and for brands like Levi's and Stone Island. Foxton discovered Edward Enninful on the Tube, who later became his assistant and model. A memorable 1991 shoot with Jason Evans featuring Enninful is now housed in the Tate and Victoria and Albert Museum. Retired from commercial fashion, Foxton has spent the last two years exploring AI, focusing on queer male imagery and club culture. He often credits a fictional photographer, Boss Tweed, for his AI works. Recently, he teamed up with Nick Knight for an AI fashion editorial in Numero NY, set to launch in fall 2025. For Foxton, this AI exploration is more about personal satisfaction than a career shift.
