Simon Baker dismissed from MEP Paris
Simon Baker has been fired from his role as director of the Maison Européenne de la Photographie (MEP) in Paris, effective Monday. The institution did not disclose a reason, but Le Monde reported that Baker was dismissed. He joined MEP in 2018 after serving as senior curator of international art (photography) at Tate in London. According to Le Monde, an internal investigation in 2024 for 'psychological harassment' did not lead to sanctions. Caroline Miller, MEP's executive director, stated that the board of directors made the decision unanimously, citing a desire to renew management style after seven years. Miller will serve as acting director until a successor is found.
