Silvia Mei's Layered Paintings at Galleria Cannaviello, Milan

Silvia Mei, a Sardinian artist born in 1985 who moved to Milan to complete her studies at the Accademia di Brera, presents recent works at Galleria Cannaviello in Milan. Her paintings feature sharp outlines and layered color that create a tactile surface, prompting reflection on time—how different past phases intertwine to form the present. Mei often reworks older pieces, keeping the painting alive. The small-to-medium format works depict haunting yet attractive figures, some with anthropomorphic features, inviting viewers to uncover mysteries behind their masks.
