Silvia Ballestra's Biography of Tullio Pericoli Reissued by Laterza

Silvia Ballestra's biography of Tullio Pericoli, originally published by Rizzoli in 2011, has been reissued by Laterza under the title Le colline di fronte. The new edition includes a chapter covering the last fifteen years of the artist's life, during which he focused more on painting and wrote theoretical books about his work. Ballestra, who shares Pericoli's Marche origins, conducted extensive interviews with the artist, gaining access to his archive and studio. Pericoli, born in 1936 in Colli del Tronto, moved to Milan in the early 1960s after encouragement from Cesare Zavattini. He collaborated with writers such as Mario Soldati, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Italo Calvino, and Alberto Arbasino, and worked as a satirical illustrator for Il Messaggero and Il Giorno. The biography will be presented on July 20 in Ripatransone as part of the festival Rassegnàti.
