Silver Yachts Unveils 85-Foot Custom Catamaran with 4,000 Nautical Mile Range

Silver Yachts has unveiled a bespoke 85-foot catamaran tailored for extended cruising adventures. This vessel, crafted in partnership with Ker Yacht Design, incorporates a sophisticated hydrodynamic system featuring wave-piercing bows and lifting foils, optimized via Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Its exterior is constructed entirely from aluminum, showcasing Silver's metalworking prowess. The yacht boasts a cruising range of 4,000 nautical miles at 11 knots and 2,000 nautical miles at 25 knots, closely rivaling the flagship 128-foot Silver Adventure, which offers a range of 4,300 nautical miles at 12 knots. Interiors by Design Unlimited are designed for a homely ambiance, with ample living space thanks to a beam of approximately 42 feet. The catamaran also provides significant storage, accommodating a 25-foot tender in a drive-in lifting dock. Construction will occur at Silver's Jiangmen shipyard in China, with metal cutting set to commence this month and delivery anticipated in 2028. Guido Krass, the shipyard's founder, expressed enthusiasm about the client's selection, noting the yard's expertise in large custom catamarans. Jason Ker, founder of Ker Yacht Design, highlighted the vessel's explorer capabilities, aimed at seasoned owners eager for extensive journeys. Mark Tucker, creative director at Design Unlimited, emphasized the design's goal of creating a home away from home, facilitating everyday living and the freedom to explore extraordinary locations.
