Silent Party at Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice
For the first time in Venice, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection will host a silent dance party among masterpieces by Picasso, Magritte, Chagall, and Pollock. The event, called Silent pARTy, takes place on Friday, July 8, from 9 PM to just after midnight. Hundreds of small lights connected to headphones will illuminate the Nasher Sculpture Garden. Participants can continue dancing silently through the permanent collection and the exhibition "Imagine. Nuove immagini nell'arte italiana 1960-1969," curated by Luca Massimo Barbero. Three DJs provide music via wireless headphones: Go Dugong (electro tribal), Enrico Boccioletti (eurodance), and Mara Cassiani (dance-house). Cassiani, also a choreographer and performer, will present a site-specific piece titled "Ear" in three segments, paying homage to the temporary exhibition and the aesthetics of Mario Ceroli, Mimmo Rotella, and Mario Schifano.
