Silent book inspired by Lucio Fontana's work published by Gallerie d'Italia | Skira

publication · 2026-04-27

A new wordless picture book, 'Luna al Museo. Oltre l’opera d’arte di Lucio Fontana', has been published by Edizioni Gallerie d’Italia | Skira. This work, illustrated by Fabrizio Sclavi and conceived by archaeologist Federica Lamonaca, draws inspiration from Lucio Fontana's 1961 piece 'Concetto spaziale. La Luna a Venezia'. Aimed at both children and adults, it seeks to overcome linguistic and cultural obstacles through visuals. The book stems from Lamonaca's research on making cultural heritage more accessible during her studies at the Scuola del Patrimonio, in partnership with Intesa Sanpaolo. The initiative 'Con altre parole' advocates for individuals with disabilities. Vincenzo Trione and Michele Coppola highlighted the significance of inclusion and accessibility in museums.
