SILA Exhibition Reimagines Palestinian Tatreez at Maraya Art Centre

Maraya Art Centre in Sharjah opened 'SILA. All That Is Left to You' on 21 September 2025, a landmark exhibition dedicated to Palestinian embroidery (tatreez). Inaugurated by HE Ahmed Al Qaseer, CEO of Shurooq, the show features 25 contemporary artists and designers who reinterpret tatreez as cultural preservation and resistance. Curated by Cima Azzam, Noor Suhail, and Rula Alami, the exhibition includes works developed with embroiderers from the Inaash Association in Lebanon. The Arabic word 'sila' means 'connection,' highlighting ties between past and present, heritage and innovation. Participating artists include Amer Shomali, Samia Halaby, Hazem Harb, and others. The exhibition underscores tatreez as a living, evolving practice.
