Sigma 85mm f/1.2 DG Art Lens Appears in Adobe Camera Raw Update

Adobe's Camera Raw 18.5 update has added support for the Sigma 85mm f/1.2 DG Art lens, even though Sigma has not yet released the lens or provided a specific release date. This unusual step suggests the lens is nearing launch. Sigma first announced the development of the 85mm f/1.2 DG Art at CP+ in February, with few details. It will be Sigma's longest f/1.2 lens, joining the 35mm f/1.2 DG II Art (released last year) and the 50mm f/1.2 DG DN Art (launched in 2024). Sigma stated that this portrait prime will 'complete' its f/1.2 series, implying no wider or longer f/1.2 lenses are planned soon. The company describes the lens as 'compact' and 'lightweight' but has not disclosed exact dimensions, optical formula, minimum focusing distance, or maximum reproduction. It will feature two High-response Linear Actuators for autofocus. Typically, photographers wait for software support after a lens launch, but here the reverse is true. The ACR support indicates Sigma may meet its promised September release window, though exact timing and pricing remain unknown. The lens will be available for E-mount and L-Mount. On L-Mount, it will be the first 85mm f/1.2 lens. On E-mount, it will be the first autofocus 85mm f/1.2, competing with the manual-focus Mitakon Zhongyi Speedmaster 85mm f/1.2 ($499) and the upcoming SongRaw 85mm f/1.2 AF MS ($649).
