Siemen Van Gaubergen and Léa Belooussovitch to Speak at Art Brussels 2026 Event on Language and Art

festival-fair · 2026-04-17

On Sunday, April 26, 2026, from 3:00 to 3:50 PM at the Tribune, Art Brussels will present "Learning to Draw and Paint Again." The event features Siemen Van Gaubergen, the 2024 Art Contest winner, alongside artist Léa Belooussovitch, with moderation by Victor Hugo Riego. Van Gaubergen's presentation delves into linguistic misunderstandings, using the phrase "de wereld is door God geschapen" to reflect on the relationship between sheep and humanity. He also touches on Comte de Buffon's parrot classification and quantum views on symbiosis. Léa Belooussovitch, born in Paris in 1989 and a 2014 graduate of École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Visuels de La Cambre, has showcased her work in various exhibitions, including upcoming shows at CaixaForum in Madrid and Barcelona, as well as MUCEM in Marseille.
