Si On’s First Krakow Solo Exhibition Explores Corporeality and Magic
Si On is showcasing her first solo exhibition in Krakow, titled “The Magic Woman and Other Stories,” where she presents her dynamic art through various mediums like painting, sculpture, and video. Curated by Dorota Masłowska, who also wrote a poem in a language Si On doesn’t know, the exhibition intertwines visual and literary elements. It features striking large figures and vibrant colors while exploring themes of the body as a site of struggle and transformation. Originally from Korea, Si On has degrees from Mokwon University and Kyoto City University of Arts. Now based in Krakow, her work is influenced by shamanism and spirituality. The exhibition also includes a sound piece by Wacław Zimpel, and a catalogue is available with contributions from Michalina Sablik, Renata Motyka, and Joanna Sewielska.
