SI FEST Turns 30: Denis Curti Directs Anniversary Edition Focused on Photography's Future
In 2022, the SI FEST photography festival in Savignano sul Rubicone, Italy, marks its 30th year since its inception in 1992 by Lanfranco Colombo. Denis Curti, who previously directed the festival from 2000 to 2005, returned in 2019 to lead it again. The upcoming edition, titled 'FUTURA. I domani della fotografia,' is set to launch in September and will showcase twelve exhibitions featuring renowned photographers. Curti emphasizes themes of environmental concern and the future of photography. The festival will also revisit its inaugural exhibition honoring Mario Vidor and display newspaper front pages from 1992 onward. Portfolio reviews will include directors from various Italian festivals, providing nearly €15,000 in scholarships. The event is organized by the Comune di Savignano sul Rubicone with support from Regione Emilia-Romagna.
