Shirley Tse selected for Hong Kong pavilion at 2019 Venice Biennale with M+ exhibition to follow

For the 2019 Venice Biennale, Shirley Tse will design a new installation specifically for the Hong Kong pavilion, under the curation of Christina Li. This was announced by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council and M+ museum. Tse, originally from Hong Kong and currently residing in Los Angeles, has showcased her art globally at locations such as Kettle's Yard in Cambridge, the Museum of Modern Fine Art in Minsk, Belarus, Pasadena Museum of California Art, and Osage in Hong Kong. In 2020, M+ will present an exhibition of Tse's Venice Biennale work, allowing local audiences to engage with it. Christina Li, who divides her time between Hong Kong and Amsterdam, expressed her admiration for Tse's innovative sculptural work and commitment to art education.
