Shenzhen's robotics industry output reached a record 242 billion yuan (US$35.4 billion) in 2025, a 20% year-on-year increase, according to a whitepaper released at the Fair of AI and Robotics Plus (Fair Plus) trade show. The city produced nearly 8 million service robots, accounting for 43% of China's total, and 194,900 industrial robots, a quarter of national output, topping both categories. At the show, Shenzhen-based X Square Robot demonstrated its wheel-based humanoid using the Wall-A embodied foundation model to pick up rubbish. Its Quanta X1 Pro robot, deployed in home cleaning services, handles chores like folding laundry and scooping cat litter. The city's sophisticated supply chain and diverse applications have made it China's leading robotics hub.
