Sheikha Lateefa Creates 'Home' for Vacheron Constantin's Dubai Boutique Opening

A bespoke artwork titled 'Home' by HH Sheikha Lateefa bint Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum was unveiled during the November opening of Vacheron Constantin's new boutique at Dubai's Mall of the Emirates. The collaboration between the artist and the luxury watchmaker originated from a shared appreciation for craftsmanship and cultural storytelling. Sheikha Lateefa, founder and director of Tashkeel, developed the piece to reflect the UAE's desert ecosystem, featuring symbolic elements like falcons, pigeons, Arabian gazelles, ghaf trees, and palm rows. Constructed from milled steel with a five-color layered paint technique, the work explores themes of nature's balance and human intervention. Vacheron Constantin's Managing Director Christophe Ramel emphasized the partnership's alignment with the brand's values of precision and heritage. The project utilized local resources through Tashkeel's MakeWorks UAE platform for fabrication and the Tasmeem Tashkeel collective for design adaptation from the artist's original photography. This initiative aims to strengthen cultural ties in the UAE and MENA region while demonstrating art's integration into commercial contexts. The boutique opening marks a significant expansion for Vacheron Constantin in the Middle East.
