Shazar Gallery opens La Stanza project room in Milan

Shazar Gallery, based in Naples, has inaugurated La Stanza project room, a pop-up space in Milan at Via Farini 2. The space focuses on emerging talents with short-term exhibitions, contrasting with the gallery's longer shows in Naples. The inaugural exhibition, "Le infinite distese interiori," features Lorenzo Conforti (born 1996 in Tolentino), curated by Valeria Shaefer with a critical text by Matteo Scabeni. The show opened on November 12, 2024. Conforti's paintings explore dreamlike vastness and the void, emphasizing painting as a means to capture complexity and beauty. Giuseppe Compare, the gallery's director, explained that the project room aims to change audience engagement patterns, offering week-long projects. The Milan location was chosen through connections with friends, gallerists, and collectors; the space previously housed Raffaella De Chirico gallery. The Naples gallery will continue its structured two-month exhibitions, while La Stanza will host spot projects for emerging artists, potentially leading to future shows in Naples.
