Sharon Ritossa's #EnjoyEternity Blends Ancient Egypt with Smartphone Photography at Museo Egizio and CAMERA
The Regione Piemonte's Hangar Creatività program, part of the broader Hangar project aimed at fostering entrepreneurial skills among cultural operators, has awarded ten project grants of €10,000 each to under-35 artists. The initiative, promoted by the Assessorato alla Cultura della Regione Piemonte and realized by Fondazione Piemonte dal Vivo, pairs grantees with institutional partners for mentorship. Sharon Ritossa (Trieste, 1987) won one such grant for her photographic project #EnjoyEternity, which reinterprets ancient Egyptian collections through smartphone photography. After an eight-month mentorship with CAMERA – Centro Italiano per la Fotografia and Museo Egizio, her work is now on view at both institutions. The exhibition is curated by Virginia Cimino, curator and coordinator of the project's photographic shoots. Valeria Dinamo, coordinator of Hangar Piemonte, explained that the program involved signing agreements with cultural institutions to guarantee each discipline's effectiveness, followed by a listening phase to tailor support. Matteo Negrin, director of Fondazione Piemonte dal Vivo, highlighted the goal of engaging major cultural entities in scouting and mentoring local young talent. The dual-venue exhibition, opening at Museo Egizio and CAMERA, marks the visual arts debut of Hangar Creatività, which previously launched in theater during the Festival delle Colline Torinesi in June.
