Sharon Butler's Paintings Featured in Evergreen Review and AAA Exhibition
Sharon Butler, a painter and the publisher of Two Coats of Paint, has had her latest works featured in the Evergreen Review alongside poems by Erin Redfern. The Evergreen Review, a literary magazine established in 1957 by Barney Rosset, Fred Jordan, and others, was revived in 2017 under the direction of John Oakes and Dale Peck. Butler's artwork "Green Wall 3" can currently be seen at Art Cake in Brooklyn, as part of the "Abstract by Definition: An Index" exhibition celebrating the 90th anniversary of the American Abstract Artists, curated by Saul Ostrow. A panel featuring Butler, Ostrow, and Tom McGlynn is set for May 9, 2026. Additionally, Butler has contributed reviews on Eric Wolf and the 2026 Whitney Biennial for Two Coats of Paint. The Two Coats of Paint Residency Program will host Gyan Shrosbree from May 5-10, with an open studio event on May 6. Butler's Substack newsletter provides updates on these events.
