Sharjah Film Platform's $30,000 short film grant deadline approaches

The Sharjah Film Platform's short film production grant application window closes on 28 February 2018. Organized by Sharjah Art Foundation, this new annual initiative supports filmmakers, producers, critics, and students across the UAE and surrounding region. Selected films must be completed by January 2019 for inclusion in the SFP programme. Applicants must submit a grant application alongside a three-minute video outlining their original short film's genre, themes, structure, plot, setting, and characters. A total of $30,000 in funding will be awarded. Beyond the production grant, the platform will feature a film and awards programme, plus a public programme of talks, workshops, and discussions. Screenings will take place at Mirage City Cinema, Al Mureijah Square, and various locations throughout the emirate.
