Sharjah Biennial Prize 2015 winners announced

The 2015 Sharjah Biennial Prize has been presented by the Sharjah Art Foundation to six artists, with a special posthumous recognition for Turkish artist Fahrelnissa Zeid. The recipients include Palestinian artists Basel Abbas and Ruanne Abou-Rahme, American director Eric Baudelaire, Spanish multimedia creator Asuncion Molinos Gordo, Argentine sculptor Adrián Villar Rojas, and Zeid. Established in 1993 with the inaugural Sharjah Biennial, this award honors significant contributions to the cultural scene in Sharjah and the Middle East. The total prize can amount to $30,000, allocated at the jury's discretion. This year's jury featured Koyo Kouoh, Suha Shoman, and Park Chang-Kyong. Asia Art Pacific reported the announcement.
