Sharjah Biennial 13 Announces 60+ Participating Artists

exhibition · 2026-04-24

Hey! So, Christine Tohmé just revealed the roster for the upcoming 13th Sharjah Biennial, and it features over 60 artists. Some notable names include Noor Abuarafeh, Lawrence Abu Hamdan, and Abbas Akhavan, among others like Allora & Calzadilla and Harun Farocki. What’s interesting is that this biennial is breaking away from the usual format; it’s going to stretch out over a whole year, kicking off in October 2016. Events will happen in Sharjah and Beirut, plus projects in places like Dakar and Istanbul. The grand opening is scheduled for March 2017. By the way, Tohmé has quite the background; she won the Prince Claus Award back in 2006!
