Sharjah Art Foundation Opens 'Image Keepers' at New Photography Gallery

The Photography Gallery in Al Manakh, Sharjah, will be launched by the Sharjah Art Foundation with the exhibition 'Image Keepers,' running from November 8, 2025, to April 26, 2026, across Galleries 2 and 3. This exhibition presents more than 50 photographic pieces by 17 artists from the Foundation's collection, delving into sociopolitical issues spanning six decades. Featured works include Rula Halawani's 'The Bride is Beautiful, But She is Married to Another Man' (2017) and Sunil Gupta's 'Black Experience' (1986/2021). Additional contributions come from Mame-Diarra Niang and Susan Hefuna, alongside Mohammed Kazem's 'Window' (2003–2005) and Fehras Publishing Practices' 'Disappearances, Appearances, Publishing' (2015–2018). The title is inspired by Zineb Sedira's 'Gardiennes d’images (Image Keepers).'
