Shared Space II: Sound and Installation at Roam Projects Berlin

exhibition · 2026-05-13

On May 24, from 14:00 to 21:00, Roam Projects in Berlin will showcase the opening and live performances of Shared Space II, a joint effort by Elsa Mencagli Andersen and Biliana Voutchkova. This event marks the conclusion of Mencagli Andersen's residency at Roam Projects. Voutchkova's idea, Shared Space of the Liberated Sound, was initially unveiled in 2023 at Toplocentrala Sofia in partnership with the Goethe-Institut Sofia. The installation features Mencagli's ceramics, fabrics, and natural materials, alongside Voutchkova's soundscapes created from lullabies played through mini-speakers. Live performances are scheduled for 18:00, 19:00, and 20:00, featuring artists Sabine Vogel (flutes, objects), Emilio Gordoa (percussion), and Michael Thieke (clarinet), focusing on the interplay of sound, silence, and collective listening.
