ShanghART's 'Conversation with the Stone' group exhibition explores geological themes through 14 artists
From July 13 to August 31, 2025, ShanghART Gallery in Shanghai hosted a group exhibition titled 'Conversation with the Stone,' showcasing the work of 14 artists utilizing diverse mediums. The exhibition drew inspiration from a poem by Nobel Prize winner Wisława Szymborska, presented as bilingual scrolls. Celebrating the first anniversary of the gallery's West Bund Central site, which spans 700 square meters of underground space and was designed by GOA, the event featured artists such as Boedi Widjaja, Zhou Zixi, Su Chang, Shi Zhiying, Yoyo, Li Yongzheng, and Tang Jie. The exhibition emphasized stone as both a medium and a historical observer, reinforcing the gallery's significance near The Long Museum following the closure of its previous venue.
