Shanghai Design Week expands to Xintiandi district with festival
Shanghai Design Week, held last March at the Shanghai Exhibition Centre, hosted over 350 exhibitors from 70 countries and attracted more than 46,000 visitors over four days. The event expanded into the Xintiandi pedestrian district, where the Design Shanghai @ Xintiandi Design Festival curated by Song Tao, Hou Zhengguang, and Cher Du featured interactive installations by international artists and designers. Shuttles connected the fair to the district for debates, screenings, and events in public squares and luxury design spaces. Xintiandi, known for its restored shikumen stone houses, served as a platform amplifying the design week's reach across the city.
