Shanghai Art Week 2025: Biennale, Fairs, and Emerging Talents
From November 11 to 17, 2025, Shanghai's art week revealed a divided artistic landscape, with commercial spaces predominantly showcasing paintings and independent venues focusing on installations. The 15th Shanghai Biennale, under the curation of Kitty Scott, is set to continue until March 31, 2026, exhibiting over 250 pieces from 67 artists, such as Allora & Calzadilla and Francis Alÿs. Prominent fairs like West Bund Art & Design and ART021 featured international galleries, including Hauser & Wirth and White Cube. The Long Museum is currently hosting Yang Bodu's solo exhibition until January 11, 2026, while the Longlati Foundation displays works until February 7, 2026. Additional gallery exhibitions include Zhao Gang at Lisson and Li Hei Di at Pond Society, alongside the Artist's Treat project featuring various artists in a repurposed school.
