Shakira unveils official World Cup 2026 song featuring Burna Boy
Colombian pop star Shakira has released her official anthem for the 2026 World Cup, titled 'Dai Dai,' which will be played during the tournament hosted by the US, Mexico, and Canada. The 49-year-old singer teased the track on Instagram with a one-minute video filmed at Brazil's Maracana stadium. The song, featuring Nigerian artist Burna Boy, is set for full release on 14 May. This marks Shakira's second official World Cup anthem, following 'Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)' for the 2010 tournament in South Africa. She also performed the second theme song 'La La La (Brazil 2014)' at the closing ceremony in Rio de Janeiro. Additionally, Shakira sang 'Hips Don't Lie' at the 2006 closing ceremony in Germany. The 2026 World Cup will run from 11 June to 19 July, featuring 48 teams, including Shakira's home country Colombia.
