Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream Staged on Stromboli Without Electricity

A unique rendition of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream was staged on the volcanic island of Stromboli, relying solely on natural light and without sound amplification. This performance occurred from sunset on June 23 until dawn on June 24, concluding with the final act at 11 PM on June 24, which coincided with the San Giovanni festivities. Directed by Alessandro Fabrizi, the project featured a mix of professional actors, local residents, and occasional performers. A documentary titled Un Sogno a Stromboli, directed by Enrico Parenti, is set to air on Sky Arte on Friday, February 21. The cast included Raffaele Gangale, Laura Mazzi, Ken Cheeseman, and others. This production was part of the Festa di Teatro Eco Logico, highlighting community and energy conservation.
