Shabbir Hussain Mustafa Appointed Artistic Director of 2028 Aichi Triennale
Shabbir Hussain Mustafa has been named the artistic director for the 2028 Aichi Triennale, marking the seventh iteration of the event. Since 2025, he has served as the chief curator at the Singapore Art Museum. Born in Colombo, Sri Lanka, in 1984, Mustafa has an extensive background in curation, including roles at the National Gallery Singapore and Guggenheim Abu Dhabi. He curated the Singapore Pavilion at the 56th Venice Biennale in 2015 and participated in the Dhaka Art Summit in 2018. Mustafa is also involved with the curatorial team for the upcoming Rubaiya Qatar quadrennial.
