Sexophilia: Francesco De Grandi and Daniele Franzella's Erotic Duo Show in Palermo
RizzutoGallery in Palermo presents SEXOPHILIA, a two-person exhibition featuring eighty drawings and a song by Francesco De Grandi and Daniele Franzella, with contributions from Serena Ganci, Simona Norato, and Azzurra Messina. De Grandi began his series of erotic watercolors in summer 2019, depicting onanistic acts, heterosexual intercourse, and encounters with demons and monstrous beings, exploring paraphilias and sexual fetishes. Franzella contributes cyanotypes that play on visibility and concealment, using blue tones to merge bodies into indistinct forms while maintaining voyeuristic clarity. The exhibition includes a looped soundtrack titled "Sexophilia" by Ganci and Norato, featuring playful rhythms that encourage uninhibited movement. A video by Azzurra Messina accompanies the track, layering pornographic imagery, vintage sex symbols, and Snapchat filters to comment on the intersection of pornography, stereotypes, and social media trash culture. The show opened in February 2021 at RizzutoGallery in Palermo, Italy.
