Seven West African Artists Create Multi-Sensory Installation at Marres, Maastricht
The Marres venue in Maastricht has launched a new exhibition titled "Porous Grounds, Sacred Codes," featuring the works of seven talented West African artists, including Yacine Tilala Fall and Selly Raby Kane. This immersive exhibition employs a variety of media such as sculpture, textile, sound, and video to explore themes ranging from Zikr chanting to the life experiences in Medina. Collaborating with Dakar's RAW Material Company and curated by Haja Fanta and Filly Gueye, the exhibition promises to engage visitors with its multi-faceted narrative. It is set to run until May 17, 2026.
