Seven Garden Installations at Milan Design Week 2026

Milan Design Week 2026 featured seven garden installations that integrated botanical environments with design. At Chiostri di San Simpliciano, Demna curated “Gucci Memoria,” a Flora motif garden with textile depictions of Guccio Gucci's early days. Elisa Ossino created “Responsive Nature” for Molteni&C at Via Senato 14, using six immersive landscapes to showcase the brand's 2026 outdoor collection curated by Vincent Van Duysen. Kohler and Flamingo Estate collaborated on “The Flamingo Estate Bathhouse,” a courtyard sanctuary with wildflowers and bee baths, featuring a sculptural installation. Michael Seum, VP of Global Design at Kohler, emphasized care for both humans and Earth. Flexform's “The Private Lives of Objects” at Chiostro Sant'Angelo presented furniture as memory repositories within a private plaza. Byredo collaborated with Jean-Guillaume Mathiaut on “In Conversation With,” placing fallen oak seats in Chiostro Cappucci, finished with black Japanese ink. Laila Gohar updated an antique carousel with large-scale fruits and vegetables for ARKET at Giardino delle Arti, announcing her first ready-to-wear collection. Marcin Rusak Studio's “Forum Florum: Herbarium of the Present” at SIAM featured botanical-infused pieces using glass laminate panels.
